BELOW is a forwarded announcement about another public hearing on two  
important bills for mental health client empowerment and self- 
determination, *this* Monday, 9 April 2007 at 8:30 am in the State  
Capitol Hearing Room B. Bring 20 copies of any written testimony.

While Oregon Governor Kulongoski claims he can find $400 million  
($400,000,000) to build new huge psychiatric institutions, he has  
been able to find almost *nothing* in his budget to support the state- 
wide voice of mental health clients, such as an office of mental  
health consumer affairs, ombudsman, etc.

Oregon hasn't figured out what to do with the cans of our ashes from  
its current psychiatric institution... How about supporting the voice  
of Oregon's mental health client groups *before* building brand new  
institutions, Governor?

It's time to go to the legislature and do what Oregon's Governor has  
refused to do!
