(1) Today: New Zealand TV Station Squashes Censorship by Shock Doctor

When a woman who had experienced forced electroshock told her story
on a national New Zealand television news show, the doctor who had
given the involuntary electroshock filed a formal complaint with the
TV station, claiming it was the journalist who had violated the
woman's "informed consent"! Today, TV3 issued its decision. Read all
about it:

of humor directly into United Nations meetings to resist psychiatric
human rights violations.

at 4 pm EST or via archives at http://www.prncomm.net with host David
Oaks. E-mail any time to radio at mindfreedom.org.

(4) Announcing: MindFreedom Oregon News Center

A new web area at the MindFreedom portal covers news updates about
Oregon activism, including:

* Support Oregon Senate bills SB 363 and 364 written by psychiatric
survivors and mental health consumers to put the principle of self-
determination into Oregon law, and create an office of mental health
consumer affairs, an ombudsman office to handle complaints about
Oregon's mental health system, and support for a mental health
consumer advisory council.

* Oppose Oregon House bills HB 3954 and HB 2995: These "dual
disappointments" target privacy among Oregonians diagnosed with
psychiatric disabilities. If both pass, then medical personnel could
give away private information from our protected medical records
about mental health. And police would create a database for certain
individuals with psychiatric labels.

* E-mail Oregon's Governor! Psychiatric survivor Dave Romprey had a
guest column published in the Salem Statesman Journal calling upon
Governor Ted Kulongoski to weave the principles of recovery and
consumer-direction into Oregon's psychiatric system, especially since
the Governor wants to build new huge institutions. See how you can
easily join in contacting the Governor via the web.

Pride" movement:

(6) New York Times continues to pound Eli Lilly for corruption in
pushing Zyprexa

On 23 March 2007 the NY Times ran an article quoting MindFreedom
member Ben Hansen about how Eli Lilly uses undue influence in US
States to fraudulently promote their psychiatric drug Zyprexa. Read
this and other NY Times articles exposing Eli Lilly corruption:
